This Sangiovese from Alice’s Vineyard in Sonoma Valley opens with alluring scents of ripe red fruits, cranberry, tobacco, milk chocolate, allspice, sandstone, and cedar. In the glass, the broad flavors of dark cherry, ripe raspberry and plum are accented with complimentary notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and roasted nuts. With bright acidity, smooth tannins, and a lovely texture, this is a great example of a well-crafted, artisan-style Sangiovese from the New World.
Pairs well with charcuterie, herb roasted vegetables, grilled salmon, pork belly, pan-seared duck, juicy steaks, and hearty slow-cooked stews.
