2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Cassata Vineyards

Full-bodied with a deep red hue and flecks of purple, this wine boasts concentrated aromas of ripe berries, dark fruits, bittersweet chocolate, black tea, leather, tobacco, wild sage, fresh earth, and roasted nuts. On the palate, the classic Cabernet notes of ripe blackberry, fresh currants, dark plum and cherry are well-integrated with hints of balsamic, black trumpet mushrooms, and layers of rustic spices that reflect the untamed beauty and natural intensity that reflect the character of this hand-tended vineyard. With a silky texture, supple tannins, firm structure and a lingering finish, the wine becomes more elegant, graceful, and complex as it opens in the glass.

Pairs well with grilled steaks, Osso Bucco, braised meats, dark chocolate desserts, and cigars by the fireplace.
