2018 RESERVE, Cassata Vineyards

This magnificent release is crafted with Old Vine fruit grown at Cassata Vineyards in Sonoma Valley. A full-bodied red blend consisting of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot, this wine opens with aromas of wild blackberries and blueberries interweaved with enchanting notes of fresh mint, lavender, roasted walnut, savory spices, and a captivating hint of dark chocolate drizzled with fine balsamic. As the flavors open on the palate, the concentrated notes of plum, blueberry and cassis are underpinned with hints of wild sage, licorice, black pepper, and an elegant touch of fine-grained oak, which adds extra layers of complexity to the long, engaging finish. 

Pairs well with fresh blue cheese, eggplant parmesan, pasta Bolognese, barbequed pork chops, and grilled steak with black peppercorn sauce.
