2019 Zinfandel, Los Chamizal Vineyards

The historic Los Chamizal Vineyards is home to a collection of old vines that produce grapes with intensive flavors and true varietal character. In the glass, the personality of vineyard comes to life with aromas of wild berries and dark tree fruits intermixed with hints of Mexican baking chocolate, licorice, fresh tobacco, savory spices, and smoky cedar. On the palate, the lively flavors of briary blackberry, ripe raspberry, dark cherry, and fresh huckleberries are layered with notes of fresh sage, black pepper, cardamom, and roasted black walnuts. A true expression of pure mountain fruit in each sip. 

Pairings include fresh pasta with hearty red sauce, squid ink paella, barbequed chicken, and flourless chocolate cake with fresh berries.
