2021 Zinfandel, Monte Rosso Vineyards

From the rocky, high-elevation Moon Mountain District above Sonoma Valley, this extraordinary wine is made with pristine fruit from a special block of Zinfandel vines planted at the legendary Monte Rosso. On the nose, aromas of wild berries and roasted fig are interlaced with enchanting scents of dark cherry, sweet tobacco, and black pepper. In the glass, lively flavors of briary blackberry and crushed blueberry are layered with secondary notes of strawberry compote, fresh mountain herbs, dark chocolate, cinnamon, and licorice. On the palate, these full-bodied flavors are further enhanced with vibrant acidity, supple tannins, velvety texture, and an elegant dry finish.  

Pairs well with olive tapenade, fire roasted red peppers, grilled portabella mushrooms and zucchini, spicy Thai cuisine, classic BBQ'd meats, and flourless chocolate torte.
