Vineyard Tour & Tasting

Michael Muscardini has been a longtime supporter of fruit from the Moon Mountain District AVA. Rancho Salina Vineyards is situated in Moon Mountain District and was planted in the 1980s by Dom Paino and is now stewarded by his son J.E. The family originates from a small island off Sicily called Salina.
When Dom moved to Sonoma Valley, he fell in love with the property and wanted to plant native grapes from his home island, but he was informed that the soil was better suited for Bordeaux grapes. So, he moved on from that dream to plant the varietals that were best suited for the soil in that region.
Rancho Salina shares the property line with the iconic Monte Rosso Vineyard – a famous vineyard planted in the late 19th century by the Louis Martini family and eventually sold to Gallo. Michael and Dom’s friendship led him to explore a project where he would look at how much Merlot impacts Cabernet Sauvignon.
Not many of us get to be part of a behind-the-scenes look at a vineyard before harvest nor do we get to ask all our burning viticultural questions to the grower and the winemaker together, so we invite you to join us for an exclusive experience of an in-depth vineyard tour and a truly unique elevated cheese pairing where the food is literally designed to pair with a mini flight of Moon Mountain wines that we’ll be featuring at to showcase this specific point in their life.
