2019 Barbera, Pauli Ranch Vineyards
Inspired by the world-class wines crafted in the Piedmont region of Italy, this dynamic new release captures the distinctive character of the legendary red grape Barbera and the radiant personality of vines grown at Pauli Ranch. On the nose, the inviting scents of ripe red fruits and fresh baked berry cobbler are interlaced with hints of roasted fig, crushed violets, licorice, leather, tobacco, and allspice. The delights continue to the palate, with generous notes of briary blackberry, raspberry, huckleberry, and plum preserve layered with nuances of dried cranberry, dark chocolate truffle, cardamom, and blood orange peel. As richer flavors expand, the profile is balanced with a silky texture, fine-grained tannins, firm structure, and a bright burst of acidity.
