This release features aromas of blueberries, fresh herbs, cinnamon, clove, and cedar followed by lush flavors of wild strawberry, black cherry, boysenberry, fresh ground pepper, vanilla, and savory black olive. The wine is well balanced with earthy flavors, moderate tannins, rich complexity, and bright acidity.

Contessa is a Super Tuscan consisting of 90% Sangiovese, which brings red berry fruit flavors and bright acidity, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon to add structure, tannins, and aging potential. This inaugural release features aromas of wild berries, ripe red fruit, cocoa and fresh violets with notes of blackberry, dark cherry, cassis, roasted plum, cocoa and savory spices on the palate.

On the palate, the lively flavors of briary blackberry, boysenberry and wild strawberry are enhanced with notes of sage, black pepper, cardamom, dark chocolate nibs, and roasted black walnuts.
